Due to our EBoard having commitments at the Metro Washington Council AFL-CIO meeting/election tomorrow, the General Membership Meeting this month will be canceled. Back in 2021, Local 2401 took the lead on the telework issue by starting a petition, which then led to a rally at Freedom Plaza outside the Wilson Building (DC City Hall). Now there is another petition going around to oppose Bowswer's plan to cut telework even more. We did not initiate this petition, but Local 2401 is 100% behind it. This is a great way to help our your Union Brothers and Sisters in Virginia by helping them get the RIGHT (labor friendly) candidates into office. No experience necessary! You'll be canvassing with other AFSCME members, getting the word out. If you've never worked on a political campaign, this is great experience which absolutely shows results at the polls.
