Tentative agreement reached with the District

Members,

AFSCME Local 2401 (as part of DC Compensation Units 1&2), has reached a tentative compensation agreement (TA) with the District of Columbia, covering fiscal years 2022-2025. 

The next step is for our members to vote YES or NO on the agreement. Please read the TA below and be ready to vote at an Emergency General Membership Meeting, Tuesday, February 15.

Good morning,

As I indicated during the January 2022 General Membership Meeting, I am notifying members that negotiations have concluded for a new compensation contract.  The unions and the District have Tentatively Agreed on a Compensation Contract between Comp Units 1 & 2.  AFSCME Local 2401 falls under that umbrella.  In the past, a ratification would be held in person; however, for the obvious safety reasons, we are not able to proceed with that same process.   

There are time constraints that make our response time limited.  We cannot wait until our February General Membership Meeting to vote.  The Local 2401 Executive Board voted to have an Emergency Meeting to ratify the contract.  The meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.  As always, a summary of the changes will be made available and posted on our website www.afscme2401.org.  The WebEx meeting will be open at 12 noon and voting will take place between 12:30-12:45pm.  Please note, this process is for MEMBERS ONLY!  Your membership MUST be verified!  Everyone thinks they are a member, but they are not.  Instructions to verify membership and instructions for how to become a member can be found on the main page of our website.  When you sign up in PeopleSoft, you will receive an email confirmation.  You must forward the email to wayne.enoch@dc.gov.  The WebEx invitation will be sent separately from this email and you MUST register for the meeting by Monday, February 14, 2022 at 6pm, in order to confirm membership.

Administrative Leave has been requested for 12noon-1pm for members of Local 2401.  We are awaiting approval from DCHR/OLRCB.  Please notify your manager of your intent and your inability to be available at that time.  Once the leave is approved or denied, it would be shared.
