The mayor’s new policy on telework which was implemented back in January constituted a change in working conditions for many of our AFSCME Local 2401 members. Because telework falls under “management rights” (like tour of duty, work location, etc.

Back in 2021, Local 2401 took the lead on the telework issue by starting a petition, which then led to a rally at Freedom Plaza outside the Wilson Building (DC City Hall). Now there is another petition going around to oppose Bowswer's plan to cut telework even more. We did not initiate this petition, but Local 2401 is 100% behind it.
